I finally received the conditioner and tried it. It is awesome! I ordered the unscented version. Sure works great on my hair!
Yes - our new formula includes tallow!
The mission of this unique formula is creating a Hair Conditioner that doubles as a Hair Serum. If you loved the hyaluronic acid in our previous formulation, not to worry -- it's still there, just in the form of hyaluronic microspheres instead of a gel serum.
Reducing hair loss while promoting healthy new growth is achieved by applying a "fertilizer" to the scalp. Hyaluronic acid acts as such a "fertilizer" by stimulating the growth and thickness of new hair and thus encouraging the look of increased hair volume.
Stearic acid from highly saturated tallow acts as a protective conditioner by coating and strengthening hair shafts, leaving hair soft, light, and glossy. Addtional fatty acids in tallow serve to nourish hair.
And because we know how important it is to keep plastics and toxic chemicals out of our oceans, landfills, and off our bodies, our Conditioner remains a plastic-free solid bar!
Our Hyaluronic Conditioner is made with a vegetable based cationic (positively charged) conditioning agent, our own high stearic acid tallow, and hyaluronic microspheres. Each concentrated Conditioner Bar lasts as long as 5-6 bottles of regular conditioner! Available in Unscented, Citrus, Floral, or Shrub.
If you prefer pure oils instead, try our Mending Oil, which includes the addition of a light and lovely, fresh-smelling essential oil blend.
Chemicals found in commercial shampoo and conditioners make their way into the oceans, infecting fish and other marine wildlife. We feel we found a safer, plastic free hair solution that is 100% biodegradable, natural and nourishing -- a win-win in our book!
Directions: Wet bar and apply to shampooed hair in brushing strokes. Be sure to apply to scalp, too, even if it's typically oily. Rinse, partially rinse, or leave in (our preference for dry, damaged hair).
Key Ingredients for Natural Hair Care:
BTMS-25 - A natural emulsifier and mild conditioner comprised of plant materials: 75% cetearyl alcohol and 25% behentrimonium methosulfate (from Colza oil). Doesn't sound like something we would normally include in our products, right? While we steadfastly focus on ingredients that are as whole as possible, we leaned in to a few advanced (but safe) lab made ingredients for our Hair Conditioner. We opted for this mild, safe ingredient because it scores only a 1 in the Environmental Working Group database, as compared to other emulsifiers.
Sodium Hyaluronate - A natural form of hyaluronic acid that can replace the scalp’s natural Hyaluronic Acid content, which diminishes with age and with exposure to various environmental factors that cause moisture loss. Sodium hyaluronate invigorates and rejuvenates dehydrated, damaged, and brittle strands and replenishes the hair’s moisture balance to defend it against the harsh effects of stressors. By helping to keep the hair shaft moist, Sodium Hyaluronate makes it easier to comb or brush the hair, which in turn decreases breakage. It helps to stimulate hair growth, exfoliates a dry scalp, promotes body, resilience, and softness, and supports and strengthens weaker strands. Hyaluronic Acid is not a moisturizer, but instead, a humectant, meaning it draws moisture to itself.
100% Grassfed Tallow - The tallow from livestock grown on our farm has been lab tested for nutritional content. It boasts an amazing 36% stearic acid! This high level means potent emolliency without causing heaviness or greasiness in our unique formula. We recommend only partially rinsing out this conditioner or leaving it in so your hair may fully drink in the goodness.
Essential Oil Blends:
Shrub - An umami essential oil blend of Rosemary and Himalayan cedarwood that's perfect for both men and women.
Citrus - Uplifting and cheerful, gender neutral: Sweet orange, bergamot, pink grapefruit, and lemon.
Floral - Relaxing and calming: Lavender, tangerine, geranium, marjoram, palmarosa, and ylang ylang.
Unscented - No scents added. We use dedicated molds for our Unscented Conditioners so the most sensitive of our customers may enjoy a truly scent free option.

Long lasting, Detangles, smells great!
This conditioner lasts our family about a month (5 people using it, 4 of which are girls)! It detangles well. We found applying wet hair, rinse and repeat as a leave in works best for our family with wavy to curly hair. I’m grateful to have found a nontoxic product that smells good, works well and is allergy free! I wish there was a way to have it attached to an applicator to get more use out of it when its almost finished (kind of like the deodorant stick) but I get that that’s how it is with soap/ conditioner bars.
Long Lasting
I love how well this little puck conditions my hair. I"m surprised that it could work this good. The new formula contains tallow and it works just as well as the old formula, maybe better. The best part? I go through 3-4 shampoo bars for every conditioner bar because they last so long!
The best conditioner
I have been using bar shampoo and conditioner for over a year now and the Hyaluronic conditioner by Buffalo Gal is hands down the absolute best! It leaves my hair feeling soft, manageable, and shiny. I never have the greasy feeling that other conditioners can leave behind and my hair is so easy to brush after use.

Smooth, not oily, good for 1c-3a
I have type 2b hair and use this as conditioner and leave-in. It leaves my hair smooth and detangled, but not oily. Smells nice as well. My husband likes the shrub scent (prefers a masculine or more gender neutral smell, for lack of better words). This work well for my daughters as well who have hair types that vary from 1c- 3a. For those who have more curls you may want use another product for more hold or definition but overall these products well for our hair types; we just adjust how much conditioner we leave in. Very greatful to find tallow based hair products that don’t have my allergies or toxins in them!

Pleasantly surprised
I am pleasantly surprised that I actually like this little puck of a conditioner! I didn't know what to think but it works really well. I bought the shrub scent and it smells wonderful and I can already tell it's going to last me a long time!

I really like it! Its very light. Leaves my hair soft and easy to manage. It smells good, too.
