For this unique formulation, we opted for actives over oils. The mission is creating a Hair Conditioner that doubles as a Hair Serum. Reducing hair loss while promoting healthy new growth is achieved by applying a "fertilizer" to the scalp. Hyaluronic acid acts as such a "fertilizer" by stimulating the growth and thickness of new hair and thus encouraging the look of increased hair volume.
And because we know how important it is to keep plastics and toxic chemicals out of our oceans, landfills, and off our bodies, our Conditioner remains a plastic-free solid bar.
Our Hyaluronic Conditioner is made with a vegetable based cationic (positively charged) conditioning agent and a hydrating Hair Serum of Hyaluronic Acid and Silk Aminos. Each concentrated Conditioner Bar lasts as long as 5-6 bottles of regular conditioner! Available in Unscented, Citrus, Floral, or Shrub.
If you prefer pure oils instead, try our Mending Oil, which includes the addition of a lovely, fresh-smelling essential oil blend.
Chemicals found in commercial shampoo and conditioners make their way into the oceans, infecting fish and other marine wildlife. We feel we found a safer, plastic free hair solution that is 100% biodegradable, natural and nourishing -- a win-win in our book!
Directions: Wet bar and apply to shampooed hair in brushing strokes. Be sure to apply to scalp, too, even if it's typically oily. Rinse or leave in if you prefer.
Keep Conditioner on a well-draining soap lift or sponge away from excessive splashing for its longest life.
Key Ingredients for Natural Hair Care:
BTMS-25 - A natural emulsifier and mild conditioner comprised of plant materials: 75% cetearyl alcohol and 25% behentrimonium methosulfate (from Colza oil). Doesn't sound like something we would normally include in our products, right? While we steadfastly use only ingredients that are as whole-food as possible, we made a concession for our Hair Conditioner. We opted for this mild, safe ingredient because it scores only a 1 in the Environmental Working Group database as compared to other emulsifiers, including its more active counterpart, BTMS-50, which scores a 3 because it contains butylene glycol, known to be harmful to marine life.
Sodium Hyaluronate - A natural form of hyaluronic acid that can replace the scalp’s natural Hyaluronic Acid content, which diminishes with age and with exposure to various environmental factors that cause moisture loss. Sodium hyaluronate invigorates and rejuvenates dehydrated, damaged, and brittle strands and replenishes the hair’s moisture balance to defend it against the harsh effects of stressors. By helping to keep the hair shaft moist, Sodium Hyaluronate makes it easier to comb or brush the hair, which in turn decreases breakage. It helps to stimulate hair growth, exfoliates a dry scalp, promotes body, resilience, and softness, and supports and strengthens weaker strands. Hyaluronic Acid is not a moisturizer, but instead, a humectant, meaning it draws moisture to itself. We include both a low and a high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate. Low molecular weight HA easily penetrates the scalp to replenish its moisture barrier. High molecular weight HA does not penetrate the scalp, but rather draws moisture to the surface, reducing moisture evaporation and promoting a firmer, plumper appearance for the hair.
Silk Amino Acid - Silk Aminos come from the cocoon of the silk worm, and has a chemical composition that is very close to that of human skin, featuring 18 amino acids! Its small particle size can penetrate very deeply into the hair cortex to strengthen, protect, and repair. It lends a healthy, silky feel to your hair.
Additional Extracts and Essential Oil Blends:
Shrub - An umami essential oil blend of Rosemary and Himalayan cedarwood that's perfect for both men and women. Additional extract: Ashwagandha - a mineral and vitamin rich shrub known for its ability to strengthen and smooth out hair.
Citrus - Uplifting and cheerful, gender neutral: Sweet orange, bergamot, pink grapefruit, and lemon. Additional extract: Orange - boasts a high level of Vitamin C that enhances the effectiveness of hyaluronic acid.
Floral - Relaxing and calming: Lavender, tangerine, geranium, marjoram, palmarosa, and ylang ylang. Additional extracts: Blueberry and black currant - high levels of Vitamin A and C boost and support the effects of hyaluronic acid.
Unscented - No essential oils. Additional extract: Cornsilk extract - deeply conditions while adding silkiness and shine.

I have been using this conditioner for a year now and I am so in love with it! It's lightweight and never greasy - the perfect amount of moisture for my hair.
I was skeptical....
I was afraid of build up, I was afraid of an oil slick, I was afraid of conditioner in bar form....I was proven wrong on ALL FRONTS. My hair has never felt so soft. Looking forward to using this more, it's a new product for me but at this rate, I will be going down the list and buying everything this company offers. Track record is stellar with me!

Everything we've gotten from Buffalo Gal has been phenomenal. This changed my daughter's frizzy dry curly hair like nothing else. It's soft and hydrated. My straight hair is doing well with it too.

I continue to be impressed by all these products, the conditioner is no different. Easy to apply, leaves my hair (thick and curly, I wash it every 10 days or so) soft and under control.
Smooth and silky!
This conditioner bar is super silky and running it through my hair was amazing. I got the shrub scent, and it smells really nice. I'm still figuring out the new texture my hair has but I think it's probably having a hard time breaking up with store bought products, lol!
Unexpected
I did not know what to expect. This was my first time using a conditioner bar on my texture coarse coily hair. I used the bar for 3 washes and it worked for my hair. I had to get used to gliding the bar on my hair instead of pouring a liquid and applying it on my hair. It softens my hair and makes it smell heavenly. I will purchase again.
Tricky
This conditioner bar needs to be used carefully in small amounts on dry hair. It helps tame the ends of my hair that get a little dry, but if I use too much it will weigh my fine hair down. I also use a bit on the back of my granddaughter's hair which is baby fine and gets tangled from sleeping. Then I can comb through it without hurting her. The bar will last forever!
Multi-purpose bar
This conditioner worked for my fine hair. It took a little getting used to after switching from liquid but I'm giving it five stars! It’s amazingly moisturizing - you won’t be disappointed!
