Love natural handcrafted soap as much as we do?  There's nothing quite like stepping into the shower and savoring the way a luscious, chunky bar of soap can awaken your senses.

We make our soaps the old fashioned way -- free of harsh surfactants, dyes, detergents or anything synthetic.  Your great grandmother would approve!

Read each option's description and ingredient lists below, as they vary.

Myrrh & Frankincense

Our unique and luxurious Buffalo Milk Soap is a fan favorite!  If you like goat's milk soap, you will love buffalo milk soap.  Buffalo milk is higher in butter fat and is considered too valuable in other parts of the world for soap making.  We thought it would make a deeply nourishing, creamy bar with a light, conditioning lather . . . . and it does!  Rich in tallow and other decadent saturated fats, this bar is perfect for both face and body.

But we didn't stop there . . . we include other precious ingredients for promoting radiant, healthy skin that also smell amazing -- frankincense resin and myrrh gum.  Boswellic acid found in frankincense resin is known as an ancient super skin healer.  Myrrh gum relieves itchy skin, promotes even tone and fights premature skin aging.

This soap is scented with an exquisite essence blend by our friend at Rising Phoenix Perfumery.  He has access to the best and rarest natural materials in the world.  We spared no expense here.  The essential scent alone costs around $8 per bar!  This little slice of heaven will have you looking forward to your shower.

Ingredients: Saponified oils: grassfed tallow, shea butter, cocoa butter, and tucuma butter; water buffalo milk, frankincense resin, myrrh gum, raw honey, rhassoul clay, and essential oils of myrrh and frankincense.

Lavender Aloe

If you love lavender, this Lavender Aloe Soap is the one you've been dreaming about!  Lavender-infused tallow, fresh aloe vera leaf gel (from our farm), and the natural color of Brazilian purple clay make for an attractive, FRESH smelling, super soothing soap.  Excellent for both face and body.

Ingredients: Saponified grassfed tallow, shea butter*, virgin castor oil*, aloe vera*, argan oil* Brazilian purple clay, lavender buds*, and lavender essential oil blend. *organic

Milk & Honey (Full Sized) - Rose Geranium

If you wish we offered a larger size of our Milk & Honey Facial Bar, you're in luck!  It's perfect for gentle daily exfoliation from ingredients that are safe, effective, and practical.  Our Milk & Honey Soap features the enchanting scent of Rose Geranium.  We "superfat" this bar at a higher percentage so the creamy lather will leave your skin both well-cleansed and extra soft.

Ingredients: Saponified oils of grassfed tallow, olive oil*, and castor oil*.  Additional ingredients: rose geranium hydrosol, camel milk and/or goat milk, raw honey, prickly pear butter, and rose geranium essential oil. *organic

Dirty Rose (Seasonal)

Ignite your romantic side while nurturing your skin with this moisturizing rose-embellished soap.  The luxurious blend of tallow and oils in this bar rejuvenates dull winter skin while imparting an earthy rose aroma.

Ingredients: Saponified grassfed tallow, cocoa butter*, rose hips oil*, castor oil*, shea butter*, argan butter, and olive oil*; rose hydrosol, essential oil blend, pink kaolin clay, rose petals*.  *organic

Essential Oil Blend: Palmarosa, Patchouli, Red Grapefruit, Geranium, Cinnamon Leaf, and Black Pepper.

Buffalo Man

Pamper your manskin or your man's skin with this amazing smelling soap, just for the guys.  Made with an epic blend of gentle animal fats, cleansing oils, and nourishing honey, oatmeal, and French clay, this soap is sure to care for his skin like no other.  This season's scent: spearmint + patchouli.  Minty and earthy all at the same time.  We tested some scent combos on our firefighter fans and they chose this one as their favorite.

Ingredients: Saponified lard, tallow, shea butter, and argan oil.  Plus aloe vera juice, honey, collodial oatmeal, French clay, and essential oils of spearmint and patchouli.

About Soap Making

Curious about the chemistry behind soap making? "Saponification" refers to the chemical reaction between fat and lye that results in the formation of glycerin and soap. Saponification occurs when, first, three molecules of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) are dissolved in water (H2O) and are split apart, which results in three sodium ions (Na) and three hydroxyl groups (OH). Second, a triglyceride (fat) molecule (C3H5(COOR)3) is split apart through hydrolysis, which results in a free glycerol (C3H5) and three fatty acid tails (COOR). Third, the hydroxyl groups all bond to the free glycerol to form a molecule of glycerin. Fourth, the three fatty acids each bond with one of the three sodium ions to form three molecules of soap (3NaCOOR). When the ingredients have completed the saponification process, one molecule of glycerin will be present for each three molecules of soap; no molecules of lye (sodium hydroxide) remain in the soap—they have all been split apart and used to form the soap molecules and glycerin.

I love every one of these soaps! Luxurious feel and they don't leave my skin feeling taut and dry afterward. Haven't tried the buffalo man soap yet but will get it for my son for his birthday.

Dirty Rose Heaven

Every time I try a new BGG product. I am never disappointed! This soap is no exception. I first learned of Shalley's soaps through a sample kit. I'm still using one of the unscented baby samples as face soap 3 months and counting! So far I have tried the lavender and myrrh scents well...all fabulous! The Dirty Rose soap is delicately fragranced and effectively cleansing. It is a nice size and will likely last a long time. We are so happy to keep trying Shalley's products. This is another hit that I highly recommend!

This soap has a silkiness to it that I love. It smells incredible, too! The big fat bar fits nicely in my hand and lasts a long time. I am so glad to have found this company. I have been using and loving her tallow balms for years and I don't know why I waited so long to try her soaps.

Myrrh & Frankincense Buffalo Milk Soap
Written by Greg C. on Dec 22nd 2022

This little slice of heaven fills my steamy shower with a rich, milky aroma. I cannot recommend this stuff enough. And the lather is so creamy. It’s so gentle on my face as well. I’ve been getting a lot of Sun recently but I just get tan and don’t deal with burns anymore.

The soaps I've bought here are SO good. This one smells amazing and leaves my skin really soft and hydrated. I don't even really feel the need to use lotion afterward.
