A true classic, this tallow balm was the very first ever formulated specifically for face!  An exquisite, advanced balm made with dry or maturing skin concerns in mind.  It deeply moisturizes to help restore your skin's natural balance. Our own nutrient rich 100% grassfed water buffalo tallow forms the basis of this nourishing concoction, combined with luxurious oils of camellia japonica, squalane and heirloom shea butter.  And it's not just for face -- use all over! 

Note:  The only tallow used in this product is from our water buffalo.  Lab tests reveal it is a natural source of bioavailable retinol (approx. 95 IU per 3.3 oz jar), alpha tocopherol, and vitamin K in the form of MK4.  The levels present aren't enough to impact skin health in a meaningful way, but we treasure their presence nonetheless.

This best selling tallow balm is now available in an essential oil free formula.  Gently infused with Omani frankincense resin and organic lavender buds, it offers a very light, pleasant natural scent.  But please note that this product is not scentless.  The nutrient density of both the heirloom shea butter and the high omega 3 fatty acid content of our buffalo tallow lend its own earthy notes to this balm.  

For the scented option, our signature Frankincense and Lavender essential oil combo is added because of their skin soothing properties, plus, these oils smell fantastic together.  Additionally, helichrysum (Immortelle everlasting) adds a little wrinkle protection.  This balm serves as an excellent primer by providing an emollient base to help your skin feel moisturized and protected all day.

Organic Camellia Japonica Oil —  A rich source of oleic acid (Omega-9), polyphenols, vitamins A, D, C, and E, no wonder cameillia seed (tsubaki) oil has been cherished for centuries by Asian women for its ability to refine mature skin and nourish the complexion.  It protects skin from free radical damage.  Its composition is similar to sebum; the oil naturally produced by human skin.  Ours is organic and cold pressed, feels light and absorbs quickly, leaving a silky feel, making it an ideal companion to our tallow. 

Squalane — A luxurious, sophisticated, and non-comedogenic moisturizing agent.  We use both olive and sugar cane squalane, depending on the season.  Olive is richer in hotter months and sugar cane reduces the overall viscosity of this balm in cooler months.  Interestingly, squalane is considered an active ingredient instead of a carrier oil.  It is easily absorbed by human skin because it is a derivative of the unsaturated terpene hydrocarbon called Squalene, an oily molecule that occurs naturally in the sebum of human skin. With age, the skin’s natural Squalene production begins to decline, making products with Squalane more valuable as skin begins to lose its moisture, smoothness, and strength.  Squalane penetrates the skin quickly and easily to offer moisture, enhanced elasticity and resilience. It boosts the skin’s water-retention, leaving it looking and feeling hydrated, smoother, and softer to the touch without leaving a greasy or sticky residue. It helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and cracks formed by extreme dryness and damage. Furthermore, it protects against the harsh effects of the elements, excessive UV exposure, and pollution. 

Heirloom Shea Butter  — Our decadent shea butter comes from a small farm where it is minimally processed.  It is hailed for its skin protecting and emollient properties. It has high amounts of Vitamin E and other natural elements, and is a perfect natural moisturizing agent for the skin, particularly the face. It penetrates deeply and leaves a smooth, satiny finish.

Pearl Powder - Pearl powder contains magnesium and an antioxidant that boosts the efficacy of superoxide dismutase, one of the strongest antioxidant enzymes in the body. Pearl powder contains signal proteins that stimulate the regeneration of collagen.  It is rich in amino acids and more than 30 trace minerals to support skin health.

Full Spectrum Vitamin E Oil - (Non-GMO) Studies have shown that Vitamin E plays a crucial role in protecting the skin from environmental factors. The d-alpha-tocopherol in Vitamin E is also known to help reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Cera Bellina - a hydrophilic derivative of natural beeswax that imparts a silky feel.  We include it in this rich formulation for its ability to prevent crystallization and the subsequent formation of granules.  Our water buffalo tallow and shea butter are both high in beneficial stearic acid and we want you to enjoy these benefits year round.

Frankincense Essential Oil — We use both a pure boswellia serrata and a rare and treasured Omani Sacra with high levels of sesquiterpenes which help stimulate the limbic system of the brain (the center of our emotions), as well as the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary glands.  It's known as a mild antidepressant and stress reliever.  Because skincare begins from within, an uplifted mood and elevated mind boosts our immune system and those benefits are reflected by our "glow" on the outside.  It has an astrigent effect on skin when topically applied.  Frankincense oil is known for its ability to rapidly heal bites and cuts.  

Lavendin Essential Oil — Known as a mild irritant that increases circulation.  Lavender is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antimicrobial.  This oil also lends a delightful, calming scent to our products.  We prefer this organically grown variety of naturally crossed species for the most well-rounded scent and therapeutic qualities.

Organic Helichrysum Essential Oil -- known as "Immortelle everlasting", this species of helichrysum (italicum) has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-fungal properties.  Helichrysum is most effective when combined with complementing oils such as Frankincense to combat wrinkles, acne and other skin conditions, plus, improve blood circulation.
